Online Counseling
Overview
Finding a therapist can be overwhelming. Agape-Online may be a simple, accessible, and practical option if you…
- don’t have access to transportation
- have a busy schedule, with little time to commute
- don’t live close to a counseling office
- have a disability that prevents you from getting away from your home
- travel for work or school
- want more options to choose from
It’s accessible.
Our counselors offer appointments based on your schedule and most of our clients have an appointment within a few days. You are no longer limited by your city or local therapist availability. With Agape-Online counseling, you gain easy access to our Licensed Professional Counselors. Also, ask about our options for out-of-state or out-of-country clients!
It’s discrete.
Agape utilizes HIPAA compliant video conferencing software to conduct your sessions. You will receive access to our online client portal to exchange private, secure messages with your counselor. We utilize the client portal to send you new client paperwork as well. Just like when you visit your counselor in-office, our online counseling program adheres to the highest standards to protect your private health information. You can read our HIPAA Privacy Policy here.
It is affordable.
Sessions are online, allowing you to save on travel expenses, childcare, and time. Many insurance plans now cover online counseling services. If you don’t have insurance, or if your insurance doesn’t cover TeleHealth services, Agape offers a Sliding Fee Scale to determine your fee based on your income. When you complete your online intake, Agape’s Intake Team will check your benefits and discuss your options with you. You can read more about our affordable fees, here.
Getting Started is Simple
STEP 1 – Select Your Therapist
Our Intake Team will help you select an Agape Counselor who is right for you. If you choose, you can request a specific counselor based on our website bios. Otherwise, our Intake Team will choose for you, based on information you submit during your intake. To get the process going, call our Intake Team at 314-994-9344, or click here to complete an intake online.
STEP 2 – Connect
Once the Intake Team has received your information, they’ll send your info to one of our counselors, who will contact you within 1 -2 business days to schedule your first appointment. You will also receive your access link to the client portal, where you can complete the new client paperwork.
Step 3 – Engage
All you need is a webcam-enabled computer or mobile device with internet access. You will receive an appointment link from your counselor for before each session. All you have to do is click the link, at the time of your session. This will open the secure interface, via Zoom video call, to get your session started.
(Note: it is recommended for your first session to click your appointment link about 10 minutes early, to set up your free account with the Zoom video call platform.)
Insurance & TeleHealth Counseling:
Many insurance plans now include TeleHealth services under their coverage. We recommend asking our staff or contacting your insurance via the customer service number on your card to confirm coverage. If you particular plan does not cover TeleHealth, we can still provide TeleHealth sessions, using self-pay on sliding fee scale (click here to learn about our Sliding Fee Scale), rather than utilizing insurance for those sessions.
