Practicum & Internship Opportunities

Agape Christian Counseling Services provides a supportive and professional environment for students pursuing a career in counseling. We are currently offering counseling internship opportunities for graduate-level students in Masters Counseling programs. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a private practice setting under the supervision of licensed professionals.

Position Overview:

As a Counseling Intern at Agape Christian Counseling Services, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day operations of a counseling practice while developing your clinical skills. You will be involved in administrative tasks, client interaction, and, depending on your program, providing direct therapy under supervision. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional counseling setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with administrative tasks such as phone management, client intake, and assisting with practice paperwork.
• Participate in group counseling facilitation.
• Provide direct counseling services under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor.
• Develop treatment plans and maintain progress notes.
• Manage a caseload of clients.
• Complete a required number of hours per semester (300 hours for internship students, including 120 direct client hours).
• Attend regular supervision meetings and workshops.

Qualifications:

• Graduate-level student pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field.
• Available for at least 8 hours per week (hours may include regular business hours during weekdays, and/or evenings and Saturdays) 
• Commitment to providing professional, ethical counseling services.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with other professionals.

Additional Information: 

• Unpaid Internship: This is an unpaid position, but provides invaluable hands-on experience and supervision.
• Flexible Hours: Internship hours and start dates are flexible to accommodate academic schedules.
• Opportunity for Advancement: Exceptional interns may have the opportunity to transition to contracted roles as Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPC) upon degree completion.
